Loki hates uno
Tumblr media

___________________________________________
A sneer graced his face as his hand elegantly raised to slam down a +2 card. Tony and Clint both put down +4 ones. While Hulk put down a blue five. Tony hurried to fix his mistake while the Hulk pouted at the cards. (he had no idea why they were putting so many in his hand)
You, on the other hand was watching them play. You magicked a extra deck on Clint's thigh. While Loki was fending his cards from Hulk, Clint gave you a thumb up. Tony soon caught on what was going on. Poor, Hulk was trying to randomly put cards in the pile only to have Tony put them back in his hand.
Last week when you decided to play hide and seek with Loki he uses his powers to find you the second round. When it was your turn, the first round, you didn't use yours. But you expected it from the god. The three men that was battling him right now was also tired of him winning so they set up a battle with uno. They figured he wouldn't know the rules of the game, but he caught on quickly.
You all noticed that he was a little skittish around Hulk during the game. You didn't blame the poor man. He was literally flung around like a yoyo. During the rest of the game you put up illusions here and there in the game to cover up the tricks Tony and Clint were doing with the cards.
The four hour long games was finished as all the Avengers laughed, chuckled, or clapped(Wanda). He had lost. The god of mischief had lost. He calmly stood up and went to his room. You left soon after to talk to him.
As soon as you walk in he starts prattling about what he should've done to win. "Loki, I used magic on you because you always win and then you be an ass about it." He looked at your emotionless face and started to scowl. "You what?"he was pissed beyond belief. You were supposed to be on his side. "That's for hide and seek. Payback is a b*tch."
He slowly go up and you knew what was going to happen.
............
Bucky was petting a stray dog in the lobby that had approached when him and Sam went to go get groceries. A figure streaked through screaming like demon. The h/c woman was barely made out to be you with Loki not far behind. You breezed through the living room to the game room.
He cornered you between two pinball machines. Sauntering up till he was 2 inches from you nose. " I want waffle fries for breakfast for a week." Then he disappeared.

Exactly what it says on the tin
Excerpt: “So the three of them are definitely fucking,” Tamara, a junior copy editor, surmises. She and a small group of work friends were sitting in the back of a hole-in-the-wall bar after they’d all gotten off work. “Like, either Lane is fucking both Kent and Superman separately, or all three have gotten it on together, and I vote for the latter, considering how often Kent disappears and shows up – well, you’ve seen him, all disheveled and his hair messy. And often when Lois isn’t even in the office.” Nobody disagreed.
am I insane? yes. did I write this in under an hour? yes. is this going to become my most popular dc fic despite the amount of work I’ve put into before and after fic? probably. inspired by a tiktok and a bunch of text posts. have fun

Body Electric
Pairing: Tom Bennett (World on Fire) x f!reader x Billy Taylor (The Halcyon) Warnings: Angst, mentions of PTSD and familial death, (consensual) infidelity, voyeurism, smut. Word count: ~3.9k
Summary: Tom's been sullen since returning from the Navy, and when his sister, Lois, moves from Longsight to London it heralds the end of the honeymoon period of his and his wife's marriage. Deciding a trip to the capital is just what they need to reignite the flame, Tom's wife gets much more than she bargains for when they check into The Halcyon, and she flirts with the handsome young bell boy to make her husband jealous.
Author's note: This is not a crack fic. I have warped canon (I mean, I had to get these two to exist in the same AU anyway), so Billy didn't die when he was drafted, and has gone back to his old job at The Halcyon. No tag list. Please follow @fics-by-ewanmitchellcrumbs and turn on post notifications. Community labels are for cops.
Dappled sunlight plays upon Tom’s sharp features, the occasional shadow of a tree or building passing across his face as the train speeds through the British countryside. He’d look beautiful, bathed in golden hues, were it not for the pensive expression he wears, and the faintest of dark circles that linger beneath his eyes.
She can’t remember the last time he looked genuinely happy - perhaps it was their wedding day?
Her and Tom had met in secondary school, and she’d thought he was an idiot to begin with; handsome, but always mucking around in lessons, never able to take anything seriously. It wasn’t until they’d both left that they’d become an item. She’d go to the weekly dances at the Pavillion, and every week he would ask her out. The first three times she had said no, not wanting to get mixed up with a known troublemaker. On the fourth occasion she’d relented, simply in the hopes that if she said yes he’d leave her alone. But she’d found she enjoyed his company, he made her laugh effortlessly, and when his blue eyes gazed into hers it made her feel like the only girl in the world that mattered. When he had kissed her it had stolen all the air from her lungs, and from that point on she was smitten with Tom Bennett.
The night before he shipped out for the first time, she had thought he meant to slam the bed’s headboard through the brickwork of the wall with the force with which he took her. However, she had smiled to herself when she’d felt the pleasant ache between her thighs the next day.
“Something to remember me by,” he’d told her with a wink and that trademark smirk of his.
Something to remember indeed.
She’d barely recognised him when he’d returned. He was thin, tired, didn’t laugh as freely, and learning that his father had passed when the Bennett family home was shelled had darkened his mood further. He hadn’t stayed long, enough to argue with his sister, Lois, and enough to find his way between her thighs once more and make her swear to him that she’d marry him when he came back.
Of course she had said yes, there was no one in the world she could imagine wanting to marry more than Tom. But with how things are between them these days she is left wondering if he’d married her because he loved her, or because she was the one thing left in Longsight that he could anchor himself to.
They’d married quickly when Tom was discharged for the final time, the war at its end. It had been an intimate affair, and despite the toll his service to his country had taken on him, Tom still gazed into her eyes on their wedding night and made her feel like the only girl in the world that mattered.
But then Lois had announced she was taking Vera and moving to London - her and Connie had found a place they could share. A fresh start. She had hinted at wanting to move away from Longsight before, and Tom had dismissed it, insisting that the family must stay together.
He was furious when she’d chosen to go anyway, refusing to be part of the send off party for her at the train station.
“This is where mum and dad are buried, how can she do this?!” He’d raged.
“They’re just headstones, Tommy,” she had tried to reassure him, “memories go everywhere with you.”
“You wouldn’t fucking understand,” he’d seethed back at her, “you’ve still got both your parents, what have I got?!”
“You’ve got me, you’ll always have me,” she’d said quietly.
He’d fallen silent at that, bowing his head and averting his gaze. It made her chest ache to see him that way.
It’s been close to a month since they were last intimate, and she has done her best to be patient and understanding. His time in the Navy has put him through a horrendous ordeal, coupled with losing Douglas, and his sister moving away, so she doesn’t pressure him.
However, she misses her husband. She feels that he is abandoning her each time he retreats into himself, going somewhere she can’t follow. Like two ships in the night, they pass each other by, laying in the same bed physically but emotionally never further apart.
When a letter arrives from Lois, letting them know she’s settled and would love for them to visit, she jumps at the opportunity. She has some money put aside from her job at the factory, and her and Tom never got to have a honeymoon, this would be the perfect way for them to rekindle the romance in their marriage.
She is shocked, yet thrilled, when Tom actually agrees to it, and the pair of them arrange a week’s worth of leave from their respective jobs, arranging to stay in a hotel rather than impose themselves upon Lois’ hospitality. There’d be plenty for them to do while they’re there, and she can’t wait to see the sights of Piccadilly Circus and Carnaby Street, she’s never been to London before.
Tom has stared silently out of the window the entire train ride from Manchester, though she knows better than to believe he’s taking in the scenery. It’s merely so he doesn’t have to make conversation. She can live with that, she is certain that once they’ve had their romantic week away that he’ll be much more talkative on the journey back.
Everything will be fine once we’re checked into The Halcyon.
It is early evening by the time they arrive, and Euston station is a crowded rush of people when they step onto the platform. She is fearful of it for a moment, never having seen so many people all in one place at once, until Tom takes her by the hand, guiding her through the crowds towards the taxi rank. Her heart soars at the gesture, a hopeful smile tugging at her lips over his protectiveness. Perhaps he is not lost to her after all.
She stares in wide eyed wonder out of the window of the black cab as it drives through the streets of London. It is similar to Manchester in its greyness and vastness, they both have all the trappings of big city living, however, the heart of London beats to an entirely different rhythm than that of Manchester’s. The capital seems harsher, more relentless than the northern locale that she calls home. She wonders if perhaps this is the right place to try to rekindle the spark in hers and Tom’s marriage after all.
That is until they step into the foyer of The Halcyon. Her heels click against the black and white tiles of the foyer, her mouth agape as she takes in the opulence of the huge pillars, the palm trees that flank either side of the entrance, and the yellow and orange hues of the stained glass panel in the ceiling. How could they not reignite their passion when they were going to live like royalty for a week?
“Billy!” The dark haired woman manning reception calls around the corner, once they’ve checked in. “Come and help Mr and Mrs. Bennett with their bags.”
A tall, lean young man, who can’t be any older than twenty, rounds the corner. He’s handsome, with bright blue eyes, and mousy hair that’s slicked back beneath the cap of his black and grey bellboy uniform.
He gives her a tight lipped smile, the tips of his ears turning pink as he looks at her and she can’t help the way she preens at his flustered state.
Still got it.
“Second floor, Billy,” the receptionist tells him as he leans down to grab their suitcases, “room twenty six.”
Billy nods. “Right this way, please, Mr and Mrs. Bennett,” he says, directing them towards the lifts.
She can feel the bellboy’s gaze upon her in the tight confines of the elevator and smiles to herself. At least someone was appreciative of her.
He takes his leave, bidding them both a good evening once their luggage is deposited outside of their room door, and her and Tom are left alone once more.
Tom whistles low as they enter, flicking on the lights, and she feels pride swell in her chest that he’s impressed by the lavish surroundings. A shiver of excitement runs through her as her eyes move over the crisp white pillows and crimson duvet that adorn the bed, thinking that this might be where they’ll finally make love for the first time in a month.
It’s a beautiful room; lace curtains hang in the windows, ornate floral wallpaper decorates the walls, there’s a writing desk by the window, and a yellow velvet armchair is placed off to one side by the bed.
Turning back towards Tom, she steps towards him, sliding her hands up his chest, over his jacket. She smiles demurely up at him, her voice a soft purr. “So, Mr. Bennett, what shall we do now?”
“It’s been a long journey, love,” he tells her, taking one of her hands and brushing his lips against her knuckles. “Let’s just get some rest, yeah?”
“Oh…okay,” she nods, stepping back and looking away. She feels like she might cry, as disappointment weighs heavily upon her chest. This is not how she imagined their first night here would go at all.
As she lays in the darkness, listening to the strange sounds of the city, motor cars and loud voices, all seeping in through the closed window, she can’t seem to fall asleep. She turns her face towards Tom, who lays facing away from her, wondering if he’s awake too.
“Tommy?” She whispers.
“Yeah?” He whispers back.
She pauses a moment, and when she speaks again she’s unable to disguise the tremble of emotion in her voice. “Do…do you still love me?”
He rolls to face her then, and the devastation of what she’s implying is evident in the arch of his eyebrows and parting of his lips, illuminated by the light of the streetlamp that pours in through the lace curtains. She feels a lump in her throat, regretting having asked.
“Course I do,” he says earnestly, tugging her towards him, and she buries her face in his chest. He presses his lips to the crown of her head, rubbing her back. “I’m sorry,” he murmurs, “I’ve been letting you down.”
They stay like that for the rest of the night.
The next morning they sit in the hotel’s dining room for breakfast. Tom idly smokes a cigarette, a full English in front of him, while she butters her toast.
“Gonna go and see Lois today,” he tells her, taking a swig from his tea cup.
“I thought we’d arranged to visit her on Sunday?” She asks, frowning in confusion as she sets her knife down on her plate.
“We are,” Tom says, blowing smoke out through his nostrils - a gesture she has long since learned is a sign of irritation on his part. “But I’m gonna go see her today - alone.”
You’re going to start an argument, and then come back in a bad mood.
She sighs, folding her hands in her lap. “And what am I supposed to do?”
Tom shrugs. “Go to Carnaby Street, or whatever it was you were saying you wanted to do while we’re here.”
“Tommy, we’re supposed to do those things together, and I don’t wanna walk around London on my own!”
He nods, stubbing his cigarette out on the yolk of his fried egg, causing her to wrinkle her nose in disgust. He had barely touched his food, he never does anymore.
“Alright, look, I’m only gonna be gone a couple of hours, then we can do whatever you want. Why don’t you order some drinks for when I get back, and we can start our holiday properly?”
“You promise?” She asks with a small smile.
“Cross my heart,” he says, taking a final swig of his tea. He stands from the table and presses a kiss to her temple.
“And promise you won’t be horrible to Lois?”
“I’m not promising anything for that mardy cow,” he says, giving her a wink, before walking off.
She leans back in her chair, crossing her arms.
Fuck’s sake, Tommy.
She goes back up to the room once she’s finished her breakfast, and takes a long, hot soak in the bath. Almost two hours have passed by the time she has her make-up finished and her hair curled. Dressed in lingerie and a satin robe, she is still deciding on an outfit when she realises Tom will be back soon and she hasn’t ordered their drinks.
Calling down to the hotel’s switchboard from the phone on the desk, she asks for a glass of white wine and a whisky to be sent up to the room. Ordinarily, Tom is a lager drinker, but she decides he deserves a treat as they’re on holiday.
Ten minutes later, there’s a knock at the door and the bellboy from yesterday stands on the other side, holding a tray with the drinks they’d ordered.
She smiles warmly, watching him blush as he bows his head and enters the room, setting the tray down on a nearby table.
“Thank you…Billy, wasn’t it?” She asks, cocking her head.
He presses his lips together in a tight smile, glancing at her before looking shyly away again. It’s clear her state of undress is having an effect on him. “Yes, Mrs. Bennett,” he says, clearing his throat and straightening, clasping his hands behind his back. “Will that be all?”
Excitement flutters in her lower belly. It’s been a long time since a man has reacted to her so bashfully, and she’s enjoying it. She isn’t ready to let Billy slip away just yet.
“No need to be so formal, sweetheart,” she coos, “you can call me by my first name.”
He shuffles from foot to foot, huffing a nervous laugh. “Sorry, Mrs…sorry…”
“How old are you, Billy?” She asks, stepping towards him.
“I’m twenty-one.”
Seven years my junior. Not as bad as I’d thought.
“Did you serve, Billy?”
“Yes,” he says with a proud smile. “I manned the anti aircraft guns at the barracks for three years.”
The sound of a key in the lock draws both their attention towards the door, as Tom walks through it. Just as she’d anticipated, his expression is sour. He’s argued with Lois.
“I’ll leave you both to it,” Billy says, with a polite nod of his head.
She knows how this will play out. Billy will leave, and Tom will allow his bad mood to ruin their day, either by refusing to leave their hotel room, or simply sulking his way around London when they’re supposed to be having a good time. Opting to use the current situation to her advantage, she decides to be tactical, and give her husband a reminder of what he’s missing out on. If he sees another man flirting with his wife, perhaps it will snap him out of this.
“No need to be in such a hurry, Billy, we were just getting to know each other. Or do you have somewhere you need to be?”
Billy eyes Tom carefully as he walks past the both of them, taking the whisky from the tray on the desk and sipping from it.
“Well, my shift finishes in ten minutes,” he says distractedly, “so I s’pose I could–”
“Perfect,” she cuts him off, taking his arm and guiding him to sit next to her on the edge of the bed.
Tom remains silent, taking a seat in the armchair and placing his glass on the table next to it. His jaw is set, gaze dark. He only ever looks like this when he’s sparring for a fight, but if this is what it takes, then so be it.
“Do you have a sweetheart, Billy?” She asks softly, fingernails grazing his thigh, causing him to flush bright red.
“Er…well…” he removes his cap, keeping his gaze fixed on it as he turns it round in his hands. “There was a maid that worked here…Kate, her name was. I fancied her…really fancied her, but she moved back to Ireland to be with her family when the worst of the bombing hit.”
“Oh, you poor love,” she soothes, giving his hand a squeeze. “I expect a handsome lad like you has girls queuing up.”
The click of Tom’s lighter pulls their focus back to him, and he exhales a plume of smoke, staring intently at them both. “Do you fancy my wife?” He asks Billy, with a steely gaze.
Billy swallows thickly, eyes widening in panic as he opens and closes his mouth.
“It’s okay, Billy,” she says gently, “you don’t need to be shy.”
“Well…I hope you don’t mind me saying, Mrs…sorry…but I think you’re beautiful.”
This time it’s her turn to feel embarrassed, and she averts her gaze as she feels her skin grow warm.
“Yeah, she is beautiful isn’t she? Would you like to kiss her?” Tom asks, lifting his glass and taking a deep drink from it, his eyes never leaving Billy.
Her head snaps up, looking at her husband with wide eyed shock.
Why is he asking that?!
“Tommy…” she says hesitantly, an edge of warning in her tone.
“It’s fine, love,” he takes another drag of his cigarette, settling further into the armchair, observing the both of them. “Go on, kiss her.”
Returning her attention to Billy, he’s shuffled closer, looking at her questioningly.
“Is…is this okay?” He whispers, leaning in.
She nods, closing the gap and her lips meet his. He is hesitant at first. His kisses are not as forceful as Tom’s, his lips are softer. As she reaches up to cup his cheek, he seems to grow more confident, applying more pressure, a quiet hum of approval rumbling in his throat. It makes her core throb to be desired like this.
When they finally part for air, she is breathless and flustered. She looks straight to Tom. He sits, watching them casually, fingers wrapped around his glass in one hand, propped on the arm of the chair, his cigarette burning low between his forefingers in the other.
“Do you wanna touch her?” He asks Billy, a low, darkened edge to his voice.
“Yeah…yeah, I do,” Billy answers, sounding more poised than he had just moments before.
“Go on then,” Tom instructs, “brush your thumb over her nipple, she likes that.”
She gasps softly as Billy leans in again, capturing her lips with his own once more. A quiet moan escapes her as she feels his hand tentatively slip into the opening of her robe, his thumb swiping gently over the lace of her brassiere.
He is not as self assured as Tom, Billy’s touch is featherlight by comparison, but it’s been so long since someone has paid this kind of attention to her that she responds to it just the same. She arches against Billy, her tongue slipping into his mouth as she hears his cap drop to the carpet with a soft thud.
“You can fuck her, if you want to,” Tom rasps, and she glances over at him, as Billy’s desperate kisses move down her neck. His blue eyes are still dark, she’s no longer able to tell if it’s from anger or arousal, the two states look much the same when he wears them.
There’s a part of her mind that’s screaming at her that this is wrong, that they should stop. However, if this is what it takes to get Tom to notice her again, then she’ll do it, and selfishly she’s enjoying how it feels.
Billy pushes her back, and she goes willingly. “Are you sure this is okay?” He whispers, his voice betraying his nerves.
She nods, untying and opening her robe, to reveal the lacy lingerie set she wears beneath.
Billy draws in a sharp inhale, before hurriedly unfastening his belt and unzipping his trousers with shaky hands.
He freezes, looking at Tom. “I…I don’t have a sheath.”
“Don’t need one,” Tom replies nonchalantly, crushing his cigarette butt out in the ashtray. “Best not keep her waiting.”
She pulls the gusset of her knickers to one side as Billy hovers over her. She can feel she’s soaked already. Billy is not quite as girthy as Tom, but still an impressive size that causes her breath to catch in her throat as he starts to press inside.
Tom chuckles quietly from where he sits. “She’s tight, isn’t she? Tightest little pussy I’ve ever had. Go careful.”
His words cause her to ache with want, and she moans wantonly as Billy bottoms out with a grunt. He’s gentle, much more so than Tom would be, slowly withdrawing before pushing back in, a dusting of pink prominent across his cheekbones.
“You won’t break her,” Tom tells him, “can just imagine how wet and warm she feels. Fuck her harder, and wrap one of her legs around you. She goes mad for that.”
She cries out, white hot sparks of pleasure swirling in her gut as Billy does as he’s told, the shallow pants of his breath puffing hotly against the side of her face.
Turning her head, she looks at her husband and he smirks, eyes raking over the scene before him as Billy continues to rut into her.
“T–Tommy…” she moans.
With each push of Billy’s hips into hers, she can feel her climax building, she’s right on the precipice, but it seems Billy is too. He tenses, a groan escaping him.
“Don’t you dare come inside her,” snaps Tom.
As if on cue, Billy pulls out, making her whine at the loss, coating her thighs in his hot spend as his jaw slackens and his brow furrows.
Before she’s had a chance to recover, Tom is rising from his seat towards the bed. “You can go now,” he tells Billy.
Still struggling to catch his breath, Billy nods, clambering off of her and fastening his trousers and belt back up. He stoops to pick up his cap, before hurrying towards the door, followed by Tom.
She lays there, dumbfounded and breathless, through glassy eyes she watches Tom hand Billy a bank note. “You’ll not tell anyone about this, d’you understand?”
“Y–yes, sir.”
She hears the door click closed, and Tom walks back over to the bed. His pupils are blown wide with lust and it sends a shiver through her.
“Enjoy yourself, love?” He asks, grabbing her thighs and tugging her towards the edge of the mattress, making her squeal.
“Are you angry with me?” She asks quietly, feeling shame bloom heavily within her chest.
“No,” he says distractedly, attention focused on her core. His thumb swipes through the stickiness that’s been left on her thigh, spreading it slowly over her skin. “No, I’m not angry.”
“You’ve been so absent lately,” she says sadly, propping herself up on her elbows. “Just wanted your attention.”
He straightens, nodding in understanding. “Yeah, I get it. I’ve been neglecting you, and that’s my fault. But don’t worry, I won’t anymore. Now–”
She clenches around nothing as his hands move to his belt, and she hears the metallic clink of it opening. “Now you have my full attention, and I’m gonna make sure you get all of it.”

sneak peek of a fic that will Probably go up tomorrow: kon in the aftermath of a run-in with manchester black, aka "kon has ✨trauma✨ about mind control!"
Manchester Black wanted to make him hurt Tim. Tim, and Lois, and Ma, and John Henry, and Nat, and—
“Kon,” Tim prompts, when it becomes clear that Kon’s getting lost in his head again. Kon latches onto his voice like a drowning man thrown a life preserver amid the stormy waves.
“He,” Kon starts, and has to stop to clear the ice crystals from his throat. Are his eyes too warm? “He said he—he said he’d make me… He wants to make Kal regret—he wants Kal to regret not killing him. He wants—he wants Kal to come back and—and find that he made me k-kill—”
His voice cracks as the memories flash through his mind again, all too vivid. He doesn’t want to remember the way Cassie begged and pleaded him to come back to himself, the way she cried out in pain when he hit her.
“Kon,” Tim murmurs again, his brows drawn together in dismay. His lips press together, a thin, flat line. He sounds pained.
“He knows, Tim,” Kon whispers. He’s known for years that Manchester Black stole all the secrets from Kal’s mind, but he’s never actually faced him, not since that time he sent the Atomic Skull to clobber Kon years ago. And even then, Kon didn’t actually do much. It was all Kal, saving everyone as usual.
Tim’s eyes widen again. “Knows—?”
“He knows everything.” Kon swallows hard against the painful lump in his throat. “He—he said he’d make me kill Lois. And John Henry. And—and Ma.”
Tim sucks in a breath like he’s just been sucker-punched. Kon flinches.
But Tim doesn’t pull away. He actually comes closer, curling over Kon in his hospital bed as though he can shield him from the world with his own body. It’s a little awkward, the way he has to position himself because he doesn’t want to put weight on Kon’s stomach, near the wound, but Kon’s heart lurches in his chest all the same.
“Oh, Kon.” Tim kisses his forehead, understanding and grief in his voice. His face is blank again, like he’s pissed as hell but trying to hide it. Kon wants to cling to him so badly, but he doesn’t dare, not when the memory of that horrible wet crunch is still so close.
“And he—” Kon squeezes his eyes shut. “He made me remember. Like it was happening again. And he laughed. Tim, he… he said he might make me kill you, too, and—and I can’t—”
“Shhh.” Tim cradles him closer as his voice chokes off again, guiding Kon’s face into the crook of his neck. “You won’t hurt me.”
“But I did!” Kon cries, distraught. “I broke your arm! Batman even said, I’m just a weapon grown in a test tube—”
Tim jerks back, his eyes flashing. “He said that?”
Kon bites his lip. “…You didn’t know?”
“I didn’t.” Tim’s breath hisses out between his teeth. He always does that, the slow breath in through his nose, then out through his mouth, when he’s angry and trying not to be. “That isn’t—” He makes a scathing, disparaging noise and shakes his head. “It doesn’t matter. He’s wrong.”

I desperately need further information on
BRUCE WAYNE WRITES FANFICTION AU (batfam)
🙏 i beg
Writer ask game
😂 Fair enough! I'm desperate to start writing as well! (Along with my 60 other wips-)
So this bwwf au, i've talked about it before but i'll talk about it again and no one can stop me mWAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHA
Because its a crack AU. As you can already tell. Its a crack multichap AU which i find so so hilarious. I've written part of the first chapter already.
I've finished coming up with the outline, it just needs to be written. Currently, in the planning stage, it's 15 chapters in total, but it might increase or decrease as I write it.
SO. WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS AU:
We start off a relaxed Brucie sitting in his office secretly writing fanfiction because he has found it to be therapeutic somehow. To get all these feelings out through writing, not needing to speak it. He writes about Gotham vigilantes and some other superheroes as well like Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern etc. He's going okay because it's just a chill thing, but his writing's gotten so popular bc he can absolutely nail characterizations and create the most brilliant plots that his works are some of the most kudoed works ever! Until... Until he gets a suspicious comment.
Tumblr media
And then it spirals from there! It looks like half the super community, all his children and even the rogues were reading his fanfics! He knew he was popular but he didn't just how much popular. BOOM! Cue one by one, Bruce finding out exactly who was reading his fics and getting increasingly paranoid. Bruce getting so paranoid that he calls Clark and now Superman's involved in it too while hiding it from Lois, Kon and Jon too. Villains like Kite-Man handing themselves up because the fanfics touched their hearts. Ra's showing up and slapping Batman bc his fanfics shipping Batman with Catwoman broke Talia's heart. And... Oh no. Not the press.
And! And! I'm doing a really cool thing with it which involves all my lovely writing friends and the people who are reading it!
The fanfic's gonna have snippets of "Bruce's fanfics" in some chapters written by my friends! Bc Bruce's style is different to mine and I want to make that separated and clear, I'm not going to write any of Bruce's fics (except one)! It's gonna be my friends!
And! And! There's gonna be a comment section snippet too where I'll ask commentors to leave a comment on "bruce's fic" which "Bruce" will reply to!
It's gonna be big and it's gonna be crack and dw it's not gonna be cringy in a neg way, i made double sure of that, and it's gonna be FUN! :D

Uni is over for the year and in just under 2 weeks I'm going into surgery and won't have anything to do while I recover so dc fandom send me a sign on which superbat/batman fic I should work on first:
Exes-to-lovers fic where bruce and clark dated for a few months while Bruce was on his Batman Training Adventure and it kinda fucked both of them up a lot
wlw superwonderbat because I'm Gay, poly and trans ft. fem!bruce's funky relationship with the concept of gender and motherhood, transfem!Diana and lesbian!clark
AU where post superfriends double date (you know. That Comic Issue that rewired my brain), Lois and Selina finally discuss the elephant in the room: their boys are in love and all four of them should maybe date about it. (ft. lois and selina catching feelings - it turns into a whole beautiful mess)
Bruce has a symbiote because I rewatched Venom and got brainworms ft my beloved symbiote oc Vengeance who is Trying Its Best to figure out this whole "no killing" thing Bruce has going on
Fic snippets under the cut:
Exes to lovers superbat:
Bruce looked behind him and watched a wall of frothy brown water hit the main road, rushing towards them at dizzying speeds. ‘Come on,’ he muttered through gritted teeth. The truck wasn't moving fast enough to outrun the wave. ‘Come on!’ ‘Faster!’ someone yelled in Mandarin. In English, someone else started to pray. The water was almost on them. Bruce turned back to face the front and locked eyes with Jia, clutching her sick son to her chest. Her eyes blazed with a desperate kind of defiance, like she was daring the flood to touch them.  If Bruce hadn't been watching her so intently, he would have missed it, the way her face slackened in shock in the split second before impact. Then, a massive force hit the truck and the world turned upside-down. People screamed, the road disappeared. The storming sky wheeled above him and Bruce slammed his eyes shut, his whole body bracing for the second where the truck hit the ground again or was swept up in the tide- -But it never came. A much, much gentler thud than he expected rocked the truck, and the world stopped spinning. The noise of the flash flood was suddenly much farther away than it should be. ‘Holy fuck,’ one of the Americans swore. Bruce opened his eyes. Holy fuck was right. They were fifty metres up the mountainside on one of the shallower slopes that overlooked the village. The rampaging water rushed by below them, sweeping down the road with formidable force, but for now, they were, inexplicably, safe.
wlw superwonderbat (ft. Talia and Dami):
‘Beloved,’ Talia said again. ‘You need to let me explain.’ Bryce sucked in a surprised breath, her expression flattening into a blank mask. The boy watched her with huge green eyes under a pair of strong brows. Talia's eyes. Ra’s eyes. Thomas Wayne’s brows. ‘Talia,’ Bryce said, flat with disguised urgency. ‘Who is the boy?’ Talia took the boy's hand. ‘He's your son.’ A stone was lodged in Bryce's throat, an old grief she had learned to breathe past swelling to choke her once again. ‘My son-’ her voice cracked and distorted through the modulator. She tried again. ‘My son died before he was ever born. I-’ she felt Dick step up to her shoulder and press his arm into hers, a grounding touch. ‘I lost him. You were there.’ ‘We were wrong,’ Talia said, her voice hard, furious. ‘You didn't lose him. My father took him from you.’ ‘Batman,’ Dick said, taking Bryce’s hand. ‘What's she talking about?’ Bryce's eyes landed on the little boy and once there, she couldn't tear them away again. Ra's nose. Martha's chin. ‘Talia,’ she said, still not looking away. ‘If this is a trick, a lie, something other than what you claim it to be, tell me now or I will make you regret we ever met.’ ‘I am telling the truth, my love,’ Talia replied. ‘I swear it.’ It was not a guarantee. Talia was an excellent liar.
Brulina/Clois ot4 shenanigans:
‘Shall we?’ Bruce asked the Kents with his most charming smile. They settled at the table, Bruce at Selina's side, Lois in front of her. There was a long minute of painfully awkward silence. Selina watched Clark open his mouth to speak several times before clearing his throat and looking down as if he was studying the wood grain of the table through the tablecloth. Bruce was watching his best friend with growing barely disguised panic. Selina met Lois's eyes across the table and they both promptly dissolved into giggles. ‘Oh my god,’ Lois gasped. ‘This is ridiculous.’ Bruce was staring at them with wide eyes. Clark's shoulders were creeping towards his ears. ‘I think your husband is having kittens,’ Selina agreed, ignoring her fiancé, smothering more laughter behind her hands. ‘I'm right here,’ Clark protested, startled out of his staring contest with the table by the sound of their laughter. ‘Clark, sweetie,’ Lois laughed. Selina watched her take her husband's hand, her wedding ring glinting under the fairy lights. ‘You can relax, it's okay.’ Selina met Lois's eyes again and flicked them behind her towards the bar. Lois nodded. ‘Okay, boys,’ Selina said. ‘Lois and I are going to get us something a little stronger than Chardonnay to drink while we wait for our dinner.’ She stood and poured herself over Bruce's broad shoulders, placing a kiss on his cheek, which he returned with a smile, small, barely a flicker, but that's how she knew it was genuine. Selina winked at Clark. ‘If you're stuck for conversation topics, you can always tell darling Bruce here how handsome he is,’ she suggested, then added in a conspiratorial whisper, ‘he picked this outfit just for you, after all.’ Then, she stood, hooked her arm through Lois's and they sauntered towards the bar.
Venom AU:
According to the Gotham Gazette, Bruce Wayne had returned from his travels abroad with an obscure but prestigious business degree, a hundred extra pounds of muscle, and an interest in hunting. To reflect this, the young Wayne heir claimed his place as CEO of his late father's company, immediately made a name for himself among the rich and single socialites up and down the Eastern Seaboard, and acquired all the necessary permits and fencing to host a small herd of deer on his ancestral property for his personal leisure. Technically, those last two things were perfectly true. What the Gotham Gazette didn't know was that Bruce wasn't the one who liked to hunt. Nor did he hunt with a gun. Bruce wasn't a hunter - not of that kind, anyway. He was simply playing host to a rather unusual predator. Silent as the night, the creature stalked through the boughs of the trees. The leaves barely rustled, despite the creature's weight, Bruce's intensive training telling it exactly where to step and how to time its movements to mask any inevitable sounds as a stray gust of wind. They found the herd easily, the creature's enhanced senses unerringly tracking their prey through the dense woodland. Most of the herd was asleep at this hour, a few snuffling sleepily through the undergrowth. The creature crouched on a branch above a sleeping doe and licked its teeth with a long, cylindrical prehensile tongue. A wide smile split the black tar-like face bristling with dagger sized teeth. An oozing black tendril formed from one of the creature's clawed hands and descended upon the sleeping herd below. Quickly, Bruce projected into their shared mindspace. ‘YOU'RE NO FUN,’ the creature grumbled, and lunged.

Hey first off I love your fics and I was wondering if we could get a head over (tar) heels ticket x
head over (tar) heels ficlet
"ahh so you found your lady balls then less?" lois grinned wolfishly as lotte nudged the girl and sent her a disapproving look. "what? she did!" lois defended, alessia rolling her eyes as the three of them jogged around the pitch for warm ups.
"yes i found my lady balls and kissed her, thank you for that lojo." alessia sighed as lois nodded happily stating she was welcome. "anyway! so then what happened?" lotte redirected, the three of them speeding up at the coaches request.
"well i asked her on a date...tonight." alessia admitted nervously, both girls beside her whipping their heads around to stare at her in disbelief. "tonight! where? when? what?" lois spluttered out in shock.
"so you weren't even going to admit you liked her yesterday, and now you've kissed her, admitted your feelings and asked her on a date? you're working fast here less." lotte laughed as the blonde groaned.
"don't remind me."
~
"hello you! you look lovely." you beamed at alessia, standing up from the bench you'd both agreed to meet on outside your dorm building, both too aware of the lingering nosy eyes of the student body that would follow if either one of you picked the other up from their rooms.
"and you look beautiful." alessia smiled, eyes roaming you up and down taking you in properly as the two of you started to walk off campus. again wanting to avoid the rumor mill alessia had booked the two of you a table at a local restaurant in town.
the conversation flowed like normal as you sat pressed together in the back of the uber, no different than any other time the two of you would be hanging out.
though once you reached the restaurant and sat down together, the reality of the situation dawned on alessia and suddenly things weren't as they seemed.
normally the blonde was confident and sure of herself, and though she could be soft spoken at times most of the time you spent with her she was doing anything and everything she could to make you laugh or smile, two things of which were her favorite to see and hear.
but tonight there was a different energy and as you rambled away like normal alessia found herself stumbling over her words, developing a stutter that hadn't surfaced she was about seven years old, finding herself overthinking everything and anything she said and did.
you tried to ease her through it and pretend like you didn't notice, making every effort you could to try and settle her, asking simple questions and being the one to make jokes for once to try and get her to relax.
though when that didn't work and the poor girl knocked over her full coke onto the table, face flushing bright red and stammering out an apology, shooting to her feet and trying her best to mop it up with napkins.
you assured her it was fine and tried to speak up again but as the waitress arrived the footballer excused herself and rushed off to the bathroom. you watched her go with an empathetic frown, waving the waitress back and asking if you could both grab your food to go instead.
"less? can i come in?" you spoke up quietly and knocked on the bathroom, a beat of silence passing before you heard it unlock and you gently pushed the door open stepping inside.
"hey. whats wrong?" you asked with a concerned frown, alessia sighing as she splashed a little water on her neck and straightened up. "i don't know!" the taller girl groaned hiding her face in her hands which was still blushed rosy pink.
"alessia." you smiled, grabbing her hands and gently tugging them away, interlocking your fingers and squeezing.
"we've been for dinner here like ten times. maybe not as a date but still sometimes it was just us and it was fine. you need to get out of your own head, just because this is a first date doesn't mean we have to go through the whole nervous awkward small talk thing." you teased lightly as she cracked a smile.
"i grabbed our food to go. how about we just go back and eat somewhere on campus, no fancy location, no awkwardness, no tables to spill a drink on!" you grinned as the blonde pouted and mumbled to stop being mean.
leaving her behind to actually use the toilet you grabbed the bags of food and waited for her outside, the tall blonde joining you and finally appearing much more like her normal self as the two of you went for a walk.
finding a park nearby you sat down on a picnic table and began to unpack the food, the conversation flowing like normal as alessia seemed to feel much more herself now the setting was a little less formal.
your food finished and rubbish discarded the two of you were laid down atop the picnic table watching the clouds as the sun set, the warm weather meaning the sun was still up and the days were longer which was one of your favourite times of year.
"that one looks like a rabbit!" alessia pointed out as you laughed. "i don't know what sort of rabbits you have in england but they're not like american ones." you teased as her shoulder bumped into yours.
"do you think they see the same clouds in england as the ones here?" you commented with a slight frown. "well its night time there right now so.." alessia trailed off with an amused smile. "thats not what i meant and you know it!" you smacked her lightly as the girl grabbed your hand, sliding her fingers in between yours.
"very smooth russo." you teased, leaning over to kiss her cheek and looking back up to the sky above.
"oh that one looks like a football! you pointed out another cloud, glancing up in surprise as alessia now hovered above you with a grin. "what? it does, doesn't it?" you frowned in confusion as the blonde shook her head.
"you said football instead of soccer ball and i didn't even need to correct you, i'm rubbing off on you!" alessia beamed proudly as you groaned and she flopped back down beside you wiggling happily.
"don't get used to it." you shook your head withholding a smile. the cloud replaced by stars quite quickly though it wasn't completely dark the two of you hopped down and raced over to the playground.
"go on, i'll push you." alessia challenged nodding to the swings as you sat down and grabbed on tightly. "okay high enough less." you laughed as the footballer continued to step back and back. "alessia!" you shrieked as she lifted you even higher, toned arms held well above her head.
"oh my-" you yelled as she let go and pushed at your back, the swing flying wildly as you clutched on tightly and the english girls laugh echoed around the park and she pushed you somehow even higher.
"okay enough!" you warned with a laugh as she gave you one final shove and jogged around toward the front. "jump off." the striker grinned as you gave her a look of disbelief. "i'll catch you i promise, go!" alessia laughed opening her arms as you took a deep breath and launched off.
your body hurtled into hers a lot faster than she expected as to her promise she caught you, your legs wrapping around her hips but with the force in which you collided she stumbled backwards and fell with you landing on top of her.
"see! i caught you." the blonde groaned as you collapsed into her laughing, face pressed into her neck as her arms moved to hug you tightly. "i think the ground caught us actually." you teased, pulling yourself up slightly as you looked down at her.
it would seem words weren't needed as your eyes stayed locked and you started to lean down as alessia pushed herself up, your lips connecting as her hand moved to gently grip the back of your neck, deepening the kiss further.
"hey you two get off the ground and get out of there, thats for children!"

Headcanons: Being the Nonbinary Wilkerson Sibling
MASTERLIST | AO3 | KO-FI
Pride Month 2024 #8
Relationship(s): The Wilkerson Family x nonbinary!Wilkerson!reader (platonic/familial)
Warnings: Coming out scene(s). Hal isn't completely accepting at first, but he's not outright transphobic. And, Ida is her typical self and is transphobic (but nothing is said explicitly). I've tried to make the reader's AGAB ambiguous, but apologies if anything's slipped through the cracks. (Let me know if I need to add any)
(A/N: I have no idea why it's taken me so long to write for Malcolm in the Middle. It's one of my favourite shows and I love these characters so much. I've got an idea for a MitM fic where the reader is Malcolm's best friend and when Malcolm goes away for college the reader befriends and starts dating Reese, so let me know if you'd be interested in reading that, or if you have any other requests you'd like me to write. I'm kind of obsessed with and fascinated by Lois and Francis, so there's a lot of Lois and Francis stuff in this. I'd love to write a follow up/companion piece to this fic, so if you've got any ideas for that, or if you'd like for me to come up with something myself, let me know.)
Tumblr media
The first person in your family that you come out to is Jamie.
He can’t talk, or comprehend your words.
So, you get the benefits of finally admitting this thing that’s been weighing on you without it having any true consequence.
You’re babysitting him one day, when everyone else is out, and you say to him:
“Hey, Jamie. I know you have no idea what I’m saying but if I don’t say it soon I’m going to explode.”
He just looks at you blankly.
“I’m nonbinary. So, I’m not a boy like you, and I’m not a girl like mom.”
All you’re met with is another blank stare.
“Yeah, I must be going pretty insane if I’m trying to explain this in a way you’ll understand.”
The next logical choice is Francis.
After all, he’s far away and you don’t see him often, so you don’t have to live with him if he ends up rejecting you.
Not that you expect that from him, as your cool brother who respects pretty much everything that goes against tradition.
You call him one day, when you miraculously get the house to yourself.
“Francis, I need to tell you something.”
“You’re not calling me from jail, are you?”
“No.”
“Then, what is it?”
“I… I’m nonbinary.”
“The thing where you’re not really a boy or a girl?”
“Yeah, that.”
“How’d mom and dad take that one?”
“That’s the thing. I haven’t told them yet. Or Reese, Malcolm or Dewey.”
“So, I’m the first in the family to know?”
“After Jamie, if he counts.”
“Man, I can’t wait to shove that one in mom’s face.”
“Can you keep this to yourself? Until I’ve told them. I mean, you can tell Piama if you want.”
“Of course. I’ve kept worse secrets than this. Not that this is bad.”
“Thanks, Francis.”
“No problem. And, congrats. I think that’s what I’m supposed to say.”
“Uh, thanks, I guess. So… you’re okay with it?”
“Sure. Why wouldn’t I be?”
“Do you think everyone else will be okay with it?”
“If they’re not, they’ll probably come around. But, if they don’t, give me a call, alright?”
He paused, before speaking again.
“Do you like grandma?”
“Ida? Not really. Why?”
“Well, I think that she’d probably have a heart attack if you told her. So… do with that information what you will.”
You tell your family within the next month.
You choose to tell them when you’re having dinner one night.
If a fight breaks out, you figure it won’t be too different to your normal dinners.
Hal looks ever so slightly terrified.
Lois, for once, is at a loss for words, which scares you more than her yelling.
Reese is confused.
Malcolm and Dewey look surprised, albeit not overly shocked.
“What does that mean?” Reese questioned.
“It means…” Malcolm pauses as he looks at you, not sure how to refer to you yet. “You’re not a girl or a boy, right?”
“Yeah.”
“But, you’re a-”
You cut Reese off.
“That’s not how I feel. And… I hope that you can all accept that, or try to accept that.”
Your eyes dart around everyone at the table, then you bite your lip and avert your gaze.
“So… do you think you guys can accept that?”
“Sweetheart-” Hal begins hesitantly, but Lois interrupts him.
“How long have you felt this way?”
Her voice is the most uncertain you’ve ever heard it be.
You can’t bring yourself to look up at her.
“Uh, a while.”
“And, you’re sure about it?”
“Do I have to be?”
“No.”
“Well, I am. Mostly.”
“Okay. Then, tell us what to do and we’ll do it.”
Surprised, you nervously tell your family what pronouns to use, and anything else they need to know.
It feels like such a relief.
Over the next few days, you overhear Reese asking Malcolm questions, but they’re both keeping their voices down so that you can’t make out what they’re saying (but you can infer the questions are about you).
Malcolm and Dewey adjust to the change the quickest.
Lois adjusts pretty quickly, too, no doubt because she’s that stubborn and determined not to slip up.
(Part of you wonders if she’s worried that getting it wrong or do anything to make you feel like you’re not accepted by her or the rest of the family will push you away like Francis)
Reese is trying his best, but he gets it wrong half the time, so Malcolm will make sure to correct him.
You notice that, at first, Hal avoids using pronouns for you as much as possible (and your name, if you asked for them to use a new one), and he has that look where he looks like he’s about to keel over and die, or like he’s having some kind of allergic reaction.
But, as time goes on, and with Lois and Malcolm’s insistence, he will try, and he will realise that all that matters is showing you that he loves you no matter what.
You find that Lois will fight for you in whatever way she can.
She overhears some judgemental mothers in the neighbourhood talking crap about you?
She will give them a piece of her mind.
If you’re still at school, and you want your teachers to use your pronouns (and your new name if you have one), then she will march down to the school and speak to the principal.
Your brothers will stand up for you, too.
Francis has told you to call him if anyone gives you a hard time.
If anyone’s a jerk to you, Reese will either punch them in the face or threaten them.
Malcolm will argue with anyone who gives you a hard time.
Dewey will secretly enact calculated revenge against anyone who upsets you, but will deny it when asked.
When Ida finds out about you, she will show up unannounced, storm into the house and start berating you and Lois.
Malcolm calls Francis, and it isn’t long before he turns up, too.
(Everyone knows that Francis will never turn down the opportunity to argue with someone, especially Lois or Ida)
It brings Francis and Lois together in a rare moment of solidarity, and they will spend hours upon hours in a screaming match with her.
(Somewhere along the line, you get the impression that they’ve all forgotten that the argument started with you at the centre)
Eventually, they’ll manage to get Ida to leave.
You’ll get up in the middle of the night to grab a drink and a snack, and you’ll find Lois sitting at the kitchen table, her head in her hands.
“Hey, Mom? I really appreciate you sticking up for me, but I always knew this wasn’t going to be easy. I can take people being assholes to me. You don’t have to keep standing up for me.”
She looks up at you, her exhaustion evident, but she’s still able to keep herself together, somehow.
“Honey, the world’s a cruel place, and it beats this family down enough without adding that gender stuff onto it. But, if that’s who you are, I’m not letting you face this alone. What kind of a mother would I be if I didn’t fight tooth and nail for you to be able to exist like everyone else?”

🖊🖊🖊
The crickets keep you awake. The flutter of bats and the sway of trees swirl together and set an eerie lull. The scent of pine wafts in and eludes to the freedom withheld from you. A serene atmosphere tainted by the coil of heat twisted around you.
Clark snores into your hair. Unbothered by his strange surroundings or the circumstance. It almost maddens you to think he can act so normal on the surface yet be corrupt to core. It's all so sickening but frightening.
You think of Lois and the crack of bones, Richard and the smell of burnt flesh, the fury in Clark’s eyes. You know you can’t resist him. Not without getting hurt. You’re too weak, you’re too afraid. You don’t want to die, not like this. You don’t want to leave this world behind without getting to tell all the stories in your head.
You lay awake, waiting for his eventual rise. He grumbles, patting your hip before he sits up. He bends over his lap and rubs his eyes before climbing to his feet. You watch the strain of flannel across his shoulders as he cross to the door and pulls open the door.
He returns with a copper kettle. Water drips from the edges of the lid as he hangs it in the fireplace, rebuilding the burnt out fire beneath. You shiver as you sit up and tuck yourself into the corner.
He moves around, searching through the bin he put in the opposite corner. He takes something out and brings it to you. He hands you the small notebook and searches his front pocket for the short pencil hidden there. You see the redness in the rims of his eyes and note the unkemptness of hair and clothing unlike. He is not the straight laced journalist you thought you knew.
"Make a list. What we need."
You nod, mouth too dry to speak, brain too fuzzy to think. You blink at him as you cradle the notebook. You’re not sure what he means.
“Food, soap, whatever,” he sighs as he turns on his heel, dragging his feet to the fireplace as he sets his hand on the mantel, “gotta hook up the water… grabbed enough coffee and some granola…” he’s mostly talking to himself, “a bed, I’ll get a bed for sure.”
You write bed at the top of the first page. Then you stare at the next line. You can’t put freedom there. You have to keep lying. You write down eggs. Eggs are good, you can make breakfast tomorrow, that might keep him happy.
“I’ll make the coffee,” you offer, “where is it?”
He inhales and goes back to the bin. He fishes out a small glass jar of instant grinds. You try not to show your disappointment. It’s something. You know better than to not play along. He’s shown you the consequences for not.
“Cups?” You ask, gently, putting pen back to paper as you remember a few other things.
He returns to the bin again. A sleeve of paper cups. Alright, that will do. You stand and keep the notebook in hand as you near the fireplace. You write down cups.
“You’ll have to find some proper ones,” you say as you put down the book and grab the jar. You read the label and set it down as you kneel in front of the fire. You hold up your hands, it’s cool despite the summer sun outside. “And some pretty dishes.”
He’s silent. You try not to give yourself away. He can’t see through your act. You rub your hands together and shiver. He moves and you fight not to wince. He grabs the blanket and brings it over to drape over your shoulders.
“I’ll some nice ones,” he promises as he lowers himself to his knees beside you, “I didn’t get to show you the tub…” he puts his large hand on your back as you watch the fire, waiting for the kettle to boil, “I got it just for you, baby.”
“That’s nice. I’m excited,” you almost believe yourself as you keep a chipper chime in your voice, “I really have to pee.”
His hand slips down and he lowers his chin.
“Like I said, water’s not… gotta run a line down to the lake…” he sniffs, “I’ll take you out, you can go by the trees.”
“Alright,” you nod as you pull the cups over and open the plastic sleeve.
You pull out two then uncap the lid of the jar. You tear back the seal and carefully measure out grinds into each cup. You smile and twist the cap back on. You set down the jar as Clark looms close.
“You don’t have to be afraid of me,” he says so quietly you barely hear him. You flinch but hide it as you reach past the blanket and touch his side. “I wouldn’t… wouldn’t do what I did… to you. I did it for you.”
“I know,” you wilt out, snaking your arm around him, “look at all you’ve done for me…” you look up at the rafters, then the walls, and the fire crackling before you. He doesn’t see your other hand, how it grips the chain around your ankle, “you’ve made a whole life for me… for us.”
-
Clark is gone for a few hours, or so you guess. The sunlight shifts a little through the windows, at its peak as you estimate about noon. A rush of air signals his return and you stand at the window watching as he drops a whole industrial container in the dirt, at least twenty times his size.
You watch him. It’s unsettling how inhuman his strength is, but what’s more, is how inhuman his mind is. Something’s disjointed in him. That he can justify all he’s done; not just to you but to his own wife, to another human being.
He twists back the bar on the door and cranks it open on its hinges. He goes inside and emerges with another bin matching the blue rubber one in the corner of the front room. He approaches the cabin and lets himself in. He puts down the heaping container.
“Food,” he announces, “I grabbed a few other things but I’ll sort it out. For now…” he stops to brace the back of your head and kisses you, “you can deal with the kitchen.”
He passes you and unhooks the chain from the floor. He leads you as if you’re on a leash into the next room. It’s a large kitchen with wooden counters and a tall faucet over a sink; there’s a fridge and stove, and everything else you could ever need. You can’t believe he’s turned a pile of dirt into all this. It would be impressive if it wasn’t so disorienting.
He hesitates but keeps the links in hand as he guides you onward. He turns back at another door, smiling.
“I did say I’d show you the tub,” he preens, “while you put everything away, I’ll get it working. But you should see…”
He waves you closer as he twists the handle and pushes in the door. You near warily and look around the door frame. There’s a tub against the wooden slats of the wall, a curtain hung around it. It’s big, bigger than yours. The tub you’ll never see again.
You try to smile and your lips quiver. You cover your mouth to hide your despair. You flutter your lashes, desperately holding back your horror. You can’t let him see.
“Honey,” he touches your shoulder as you pull back.
“I’m okay,” you squeak, “I just can’t believe you did all this for me.” To me…
“Of course, I… I’d do anything for you. Don’t you see?”
You nod, gulping down the wave of terror. You fan yourself and face him, hoping he can’t see right through you. Your heart is thumping wildly. Didn’t he say he could hear it?
“I’m just so overwhelmed. No one ever…” you trail off, “Clark, I’m not afraid of you, I’m afraid that… I’m not enough for you.”
His forehead stitches and he tilts his head. A scoff scratches in his throat. Shit, he doesn’t believe you. He drops the chain, the metal clanking loudly on the floor.
“Sweetie, of course you’re enough,” he grabs your hands, making you jolt. “You’re everything I ever dreamed of… I’ve written pages for you. I can’t stop. I just dream of our life together and… you did this. You made me want to make our story more than words. I’m building it around us. All of this.”
He looks up dreamily, “we can live happily ever after. Just us. No one will get in our way.”
“They won’t,” you rasp and you squeeze his hands, legs wobbly as your head spins. “They can’t…”
They won’t find you. They can’t save you. That’s what you really mean.
He searches your face. You measure your breathing, urging your heart to calm. You cling to him, afraid you might collapse. The crushing weight of surrender lays over your shoulders. You don’t have a choice but that doesn’t make it any easier.
“Sweetie,” he lets go of your hands and brings his grip around your waist, “I knew you just had to see what I see. What’s inside my head. That you would get once I made it more than fiction.”
“I do,” you croak, running your hands up his arms and across his chest, “I see it. It’s amazing.”
He leans in, growling over you as he draws you closer. He bends to nuzzle your hair and lets out a hot breath over your scalp. He inhales your scent and sways you. You are nothing, you are thin as air, you dissolve in his arms.
“I forgive you,” his lips tickle your forehead as he pulls back just a little, “honey, I love you and I forgive you.” His hand slips down your side and his fingers curl beneath the denim of your waistline, “I missed you so much.”
You swallow, eyes welling as you dip your chin, hiding your dread. You caress him through the flannel of his shirt. You know what he wants. All his sweet words only ever lead to pain.
“I missed you too,” you brush your hand up to his neck, feeling how he trembles at your touch. That is your power; you cannot win, but you can survive.
You drop your other hand onto his and pull it away from your waist. You turn, sure to keep your face down, tugging him with you as you approach the counter. You let him go and unbutton your jeans. You bite down on your disgust.
You bare your ass, planting an arm on the counter as you bend against it. You touch your ass and dig your nails into the flesh with a hum. You wiggle your hips at him.
“Please, Clark, you said you miss me, right.”
“I’m sorry, sweetie,” he comes up behind you, placing his hand over yours, groping you around your own, “I’m sorry about last night. I’ll never… I’ll never hurt you like that again.”
He shifts his hand, tickling along your ass, down along the crease, and between your folds. He pushes his fingers against your cunt and you step apart, as far as you can against the restraint of your jeans. You look down as he pokes into you, groaning as he feels you around his knuckles, spreading them so you stretch around him.
You grip the counter and look down at your ankle, the chain hanging there, loose. That’s it. You just have to wait for your chance; maybe not today, but eventually, when his guard is down, when he trusts you. When his delusion is too much to suspect the truth.

Apart from that, two delicious smutty fics got an update: Bruce/Dick/Jason college au and Slade/Jason western au. We also have an amazing DCU, MCU and X-Men crossover oneshot! Hope you enjoy the recs <3

The Assassination of President Luthor by the Radical Lonnie Machin by NiteWrighter "Hi. I’m Lonnie. So I guess I should start out by saying, I don’t believe violence is a sustainable tool. It’s not. It’s a reflection of our ugliest, most base instincts. But it is the current language of the state, so I apologize for bringing my voice to the conversation."
President Luthor has been brutally killed by a magical weapon, and Anarky has claimed responsibility. The Justice League is struggling with the ensuing fallout, instability, suspicion, and speculation, while a power vacuum opens up in the world of the Rogues. What does a world without Lex Luthor look like? Is he truly gone? Has a greater chain reaction been kicked off by this single death?

The Half-Life of Sixty Seconds by sunnymusings "The problem with thinking like a detective is not actually that thinking like one is too strict or structured. There’s organization on a document, but Tim’s mind is not a bullet journal. It’s not a legal form, it’s not a spreadsheet, it’s not a ledger.
It’s messy and human and creative. Loose, unstructured, instinctual. Detectives aren’t good at solving cases because they work like machines; it’s much the opposite. It’s that creative mess which aids in seeing between the structure of presented facts, reading the code, and then cracking it. It’s like tracing a spider web back to its center. There’s an observable track leading exactly where one needs to go— a veritable method to the madness— but it’s still art, all the same, even to the broom that ruins it.
So, when Tim is presented with a countdown, it’s not just a mechanical, factual understanding of time that pushes hard against the inside of his ribs; it’s a too-clear visual of a digital clock-face, neutral and unyielding, counting down from sixty in his neocortex. Artistic and messy and emotional.
There is only one place to go once one is caught in the web."

Nothing to Nobody by Jae_Cillian The kid—Jason—stared at Slade with wide, alert eyes. Big and round like a doe—startled in its grazing, frozen in the sights of a predator. He leaned forward, one hand still gripping the pistol but the other anchoring his weight against the floor as if to stand and chase after Slade. But with Slade’s eye on him, Jason didn’t dare move an inch. All tense lines and silent shudders of breath that Slade could see quake along the kid’s ribs, Jason reminded Slade of a stray dog. Snarling and snapping its canines when he got too close, but whimpering and whining when he walked away.
Slade wondered how long it’d take to tame the kid; and, thereupon, realized he might enjoy the challenge of it.

Do you know of good batfam fics where Cass is a major character? Always desperately searching for thos
This is one of my favriote interpretations of Cass. (It takes a bit for the reader to see her, but after chapter 3 she gets a lot of screen time.)
'Little Birds’ Wings' by SpaceWall
’Heroless City’ the stark words read, jumping out at Jason straight away. It was a Lois Lane byline too, which meant the information was probably good. Above them was a picture of the batsignal being dismantled. The green cracked, and for the first time in months, perhaps years, Jason felt something totally untinged by anger: curiosity.
Jason checked the time, realized he had five minutes to wait for the subway, and unfolded the paper.
Gotham has been a city of capes for almost a decade. Batman, a founding member of the Justice League, was her first, and foremost. Many saw Gotham herself reflected in him, dark, inscrutable, and fearless. For Gothamites, he was a symbol of the best and the worst of the city.
No one has seen Batman in more than a year.
Fuck me, Jason thought, and read on. By the time he got on the subway – two minutes late, of course – he’d learned that Batman was gone. He hadn’t been seen out with the Justice League since Jason died, and in Gotham, reports of him had been dwindling for a long time.
Also conspicuous in his absence is the terrorist, described by some as a ‘supervillain’, known as the Joker. Some Gothamites viewed the Joker as Batman’s equal and opposite. This view seems rather prescient now. The Joker vanished many years before the final appearance of Batman, though the Bat’s denouement began soon after.
It didn’t make any damn sense. The Joker had killed Jason, and no one had caught him, and now Batman was gone. It would have made sense if Joker had killed Bruce too and he’d vanished all at once, but this slow disappearance made no sense at all.

The Best Gossip on the Planet!
Oneshot – (FFN) (AO3)
Summary:
Cat Grant had it! The best scoop she'd ever gotten, right on the roof of The Daily Planet! Or, Superman and Lois aren't the most careful when it comes to who sees them. One thing leads to another, and to another, and to an article in The Daily Planet.
This fic is inspired by artwork by @tsbdhdndj! Thanks for letting me write based on it! <3
It was undeniable! Simply preposterous to even begin to dispute this truth! This would be the story which made the fabulous Cat Grant a star journalist!
The story began that morning, when Cat heard one of her coworkers cry out that Superman had flown up to their building’s roof. Every time Superman showed up, juicy stories followed him! Cat wasted no time as she ran to the stairs, scaled the fifteen floors above her, and then tip-toed up to the access door. She planted herself there, listening intently for her favorite kind of news: gossip.
“Come on, Superman! We both know Lex is just a spineless coward. You can take him!”
“It’s not about whether I can take him in a fight. This is a problem of reputation.”
“That doesn’t mean anything! He’s just a bully. Who listens to bullies anyway?”
Cat pushed the door open gently, just wide enough to see through a crack.
Lois Lane and Superman were standing on the roof! And by standing, of course, she meant that he was floating a few inches off the ground and she was in his arms, too close for him to have just carried her up. No, he was holding her more intimately than that.
She’d caught them red-handed!
“Lois, I can’t just punch all my problems away. Plenty of people listen to him, that’s why Lexcorp even exists. I have to handle this the hard way.”
“But–”
“No buts! That’s not how this works, and you know it.”
Lois sighed heavily, laying her head down on his shoulder in an awfully familiar manner. “I wish it wasn’t so hard…”
Cat reached for her phone and snapped a picture through the crack in the door. The shutter gave a little click.
“I know– hold on.”
Superman moved faster than Cat could blink. He pulled open the door, Lois abandoned where they’d been just prior, and he was glaring at Cat. “Cat Grant. I should have expected you to be eavesdropping.”
“Cat?!” Lois shrieked. “Cat, stop, this isn’t what it looks like!”
She jumped on the opportunity. “Superman, please, elaborate on the situation here! Are you aware Ms. Lane is currently in a romantic relationship with Clark Kent, another of our journalists? How does it feel to be the side chick? Just how long has this been going on?”
Superman backed away, wide-eyed. “Woah, hold on! That’s not– it’s not–”
“I’m not cheating on Clark!” Lois cried. “It’s– this isn’t anything, purely professional!”
“Professional?” Cat whooped with laughter. “My dear, my dear! It didn’t look that way to me!”
“You’re wrong. It’s nothing weird like that.”
“Nothing weird? Why, this is exceptional! Superman, you must let me interview you!” She gave him a sly smile, enjoying how his eyes widened in either fear or hope. “To clear the air, of course.”
Superman cleared his throat, averting his gaze for a moment before he spoke to her directly. “Ma’am, I must insist that it’s none of the public’s business.”
“Oh, but the public–” Cat pointed at herself– “already knows that something is going on! Surely you’d like to get ahead of the rumor wheel.”
He considered her argument, and Cat knew that he would agree. She always knew.
When he glanced back at Lois for confirmation, Cat was certain she had her scoop, even though Lois was frantically trying to pantomime that he should stop. “...Fine. I’ll answer your questions.”
Cat whooped in victory. “Fabulous!”
She sprang forward and grabbed Superman’s hand, pulling unsuccessfully. “Come, come, you must want privacy!” He complied and walked with her, and Cat dragged him to the corner of the rooftop near the building’s AC units.
She spun to face him and held up her recorder. “First question. What do you think of Clark Kent?”
He blinked twice. “Uh… who is that…?”
“Lois Lane’s self-proclaimed boyfriend! He’s another reporter here at the Planet, and has written several articles about you.”
“Uh– oh, yeah, Mr. Kent! Of course I know him!” He laughed awkwardly. “Um, he’s fine. Just a regular guy, a good reporter. Nothing special about him!”
“Oho, nothing special?” Cat pressed her advantage. “So you think he’s mediocre? Is he not worthy of Lois?”
“What?! I mean– no, nobody’s worthy of anybody else. Ms. Grant, I don’t think about him at all!”
Another score! She tried a new angle, “And what about Lois? What drew your eye? Didn’t you once say your ‘ideal woman’ was a ‘tall surgeon?’ We both know Lois is nothing like that.”
Superman frowned. “Ma’am, I don’t think the events of a reality show have any bearing on real life.”
“So did you lie?”
“What? No, I don’t lie to people.”
“Come now, Supes. Everyone lies. That’s why I have a gossip column in the first place.” Cat smirked. “Now. What’s so special about Lois Lane to capture the eye of Metropolis’ most eligible bachelor?”
She knew she’d struck a chord when the superhero blushed. He paused, stammering and hemming and hawing.
“Well… she already said it's nothing like that.”
“Come on, Superman! That blush says you have eyes for her. Spill.”
He sputtered and blushed a deeper pink, giving some excuse before he finally answered. “Lois is certainly a special person. She’s brave and kind, and really has a heart for Metropolis. She thinks the people should know what’s happening in their city, and I… admire that.” He shook his head, gaining some composure. “Ms. Grant, I won’t go into what is not between us. Just know that Ms. Lane is a wonderful person. Nobody needs to be extraordinary to be valuable.”
Cat nodded, mentally noting how Superman seemed to grow more confident as he spoke about her– like Lois meant more to him than he was letting on, just as she’d expected. What a twist, to have a superhero vying with an average man for a date with a journalist! This was going to be one of her best articles so far.
“Of course, of course. One last question, Superman.” She leaned forward, holding his gaze. “What would you like to say to Clark Kent? You know he’ll read this article, so give him a message!”
Superman paused, thinking hard, and placed his fists on his hips in one of his most iconic poses. “Well, Ms. Grant. If I had one thing to say to Mr. Kent, I’d tell him to keep Lois close and treat her even better than she deserves. He’s a lucky man.”
Cat snickered. “Is that really everything? You won’t try to stake your claim?”
“Stake my claim?” He considered it again, and then grinned– a mischievious expression that Cat wished she could get a photographer to capture. “Oh, I see. Yes, please put in the article that while I won’t fight him, we both know Lois gets whatever– and whoever– she wants.”
The scoop was hers! Cat whooped in victory. “Of course, Superman! I’ll make sure it’s impossible to miss!”
Superman nodded, gave her a bland goodbye, and flew away. The rooftop was suddenly quite empty and still, with Lois having somehow escaped during her conversation, but Cat was triumphant anyway.
Now, to add the pièce de résistance!
“Oh, Claaaark!~” Cat sang as she walked down the halls of the Daily Planet, waving a piece of paper in the air. “Claaark, where are you!”
She opened the door to the newspaper morgue without knocking, just to find the very trio she wanted to find. Jimmy and Clark were bent over the table, looking over some documents, while Lois was pinning things to their ‘murder board’ at the back of the room.
All eyes fell on Cat.
She laughed. “Oh, perfect! Just who I wanted to find!”
Lois shrieked. “Nope! Nope, nope, nope! Get out of here, Cat!”
“No can do!” Cat barged in, delighting in the boys’ shocked expressions. Lois tried to push her out of the room, but Cat managed to close the door just in time to stay inside. “Come now, Lois, there’s no need for that! I just wanted to talk to you bunch.”
“Absolutely not!” Lois was red in the face now.
“You don’t even know what I wanted to say!”
“I have a pretty good idea! Clark, help me get her out of here!”
Clark looked between them with a bemused expression, smiling. “What’s going on here? Cat’s got just as much right as anyone to come in here, you know that Lois.”
“I swear, Smallville–”
“Clark!” Cat cheered and reached out to grab his hand. “Perfect, just the man I wanted!”
Clark blushed. “What?”
Jimmy’s jaw dropped. “What?!”
Cat laughed. “Oh stop that. Nothing of that sort, boys. I need to talk to Clark. An interview!”
Clark laughed nervously, sounding faint. “Um… you want to talk to me? Is this work-related?”
“Of course!” Cat pulled out her recorder and clicked it on. “Tell me, what do you think of Superman?”
He blinked, and blinked again. “What?”
“I said, what do you think of Superman? Come on, give me something to work with here! You know non-answers don’t work for articles!”
Clark stammered a little more, looking between all of the people in the room. He landed on Jimmy, who wiggled his eyebrows. “C’mon, buddy. Just tell her. It’s probably some human interest piece.”
He sighed. “All right. What are you looking for here, Cat?”
Here was the clincher. She leaned forward, winking. “Give me your full, honest opinion about him. Do you think he’s a good person? Is he handsome? Approachable? Honest?”
Clark laughed. “Honest? Of course he’s honest. Do you seriously think someone who spends their time helping everybody without asking a thing would be a bad person?” He rolled his eyes. “Please. I bet he’s the type to splurge on gifts for his mom, or… adopt a kitten in need of a home, just because it needs one. Metropolis is better off with him helping us.”
Cat nodded and jotted down a couple notes. He obviously thought highly of the superhero… was it highly enough to get a good reaction?
She pulled out her piece of paper and offered it to him. “Look at this and tell me what you think about it.”
Clark stared at it, with Jimmy and Lois coming up behind him. Lois was somehow even more red, as if she was about to combust. Jimmy looked at it, then at Cat, then back and forth between the two. The paper illustrated Superman and a blue sky background, as if flying through the air, with a superimposed candid of Lois from around the office pasted into his arms. It looked a bit like a sticker on top of a poster.
Jimmy looked unimpressed. “Uh… Cat, did you Photoshop this?”
Cat rolled her eyes in frustration. “Yes, but that’s not important. Give me feedback!”
“This looks like a fan comic.” He took it and looked it over, turning it this way and that. “And a bad one. Seriously, did you even try?”
“Of course I tried!” Cat snapped, grabbing it from him. “It’s called a visual aid, darling. Now–” She looked at Clark, who was looking between everyone else with an unreadable expression. “What? What is it?”
“...Cat, why did you Photoshop Lois and Superman together?”
The scoop was hers!
“Oh, well, I just wanted to know what you had to say about Lois and Superman secretly dating!”
Jimmy gasped. “What?! No way, you’re crazy!”
Lois looked like she could melt through the floor from sheer embarrassment. “Yeah… crazy…”
Clark gaped at Lois. “Lois? You’re kidding. Please, tell me you’re kidding.”
Lois glared at him and said nothing.
“Oh… oh, boy. Oh my gosh. What? I mean– I just– what?” Clark sputtered, making some meaningless noises, ruffling his hair and knocking his glasses askew. “You said he wasn’t going to be a problem!”
“Clark–”
“No, you said he was just a friend,” Clark continued, staring at her. “You’re telling me that you said you ‘didn’t want to be official right now,’ and then went off and started going on dates with Superman? Lois, that’s just cold!”
Something undefinable crossed between them. Cat pulled out her phone to snap a subtle picture– with flash, of course– as Lois turned on him.
“Well, you know what? He’s exciting. He’s a hero. Of course I said yes to going on a date with him!”
“And I’m not exciting? I’m not good enough for you?”
“You’re not Superman,” Lois accused.
“So?! I treated you like a queen! You met my parents, Lois! I’ve never brought anyone to meet them. How about when your apartment bathroom flooded and I helped you clean it up? Or when your dad came to my parents’ for Thanksgiving? Or–”
“You think you’re such a hero?!” Lois snapped, storming over to him and pointing her finger right in his face. “Then you go and be Superman. Go ahead, just try to save Metropolis the way he does every single day. Just try and be half the man he is.”
“He’s not even a man, he’s an alien!”
“Maybe I like aliens. Ever thought of that?!”
Cat couldn’t keep down her whooping laughter. It echoed through the morgue, stopping Lois and Clark in their tracks. The two turned on her in sync with matching angry expressions.
Lois raised her finger to point at Cat. “You. Stay out of this.”
“No.” Clark stepped forward, between Lois and Cat. “You know what? No. Cat, I know you’re gonna write an article on this, so I have a message for Superman that I want you to put in, word for word.”
Cat was giddy as she got out her notebook. “Please, tell me! I want all the details.”
Clark took her recorder and brought it up to his face, speaking slowly and clearly. His voice was low, dangerously low, and filled with brimming frustration. It was enough to rival the male leads in Cat’s romance novels!
(So she liked to read trashy romance. Sue her. Romance was the world’s largest book genre for a reason.)
“Superman, this is a message from Clark Kent. You might be a hero, and might save Metropolis from whatever comes to hurt its people, but you don’t get to take everything you want just because of that. If you want someone to date, go about it the normal way.”
His gaze slid to Lois. “If you really want to romance Lois so badly, first you have to take it up with me. I’m sure you know where I live, so… so… meet me on the roof and talk to me like a man. I won’t give up on Lois, not ever, so we’ll let Lois decide once and for all.”
Lois was watching him with wide eyes. Cat took back her recorder, smiling slyly as she put away her notebook. “Is that all?”
Clark smiled, then nodded slowly. “That’s all. Now, if you’ll excuse us, I think I need to have a little talk with Lois. Will you give us some space?”
Cat snickered. “But of course. Have fun, you two!”
She opened the door, and almost as an afterthought, grabbed Jimmy by his jacket collar. “Come along, Olson! We’ve got an article to write!”
“Hey, wait– let go of me!”
“Metropolis waits for no one!” Cat sang it out as she pulled the door closed behind her, slamming as she left. She pulled the struggling Jimmy down the hall to her cubicle, only letting him go when she dropped him at his own space. “Don’t go back in there, dear, they need their space.”
“But–”
“No, no buts! Trust me, you don’t want to see that.” She winked, enjoying how Jimmy’s jaw dropped. “They’re just fine with no one else there.”
Jimmy sputtered. “Wh– I– fine?”
“Good, good!”
Cat left him behind, sliding into her own cubicle with a sly smile. She felt like the cat that had gotten the canary!
What would it be like when they met? Oh, she could already envision it! The mental picture was delightful, she just had to laugh!
She could see it now. Superman and Clark Kent, facing off against one another. The anger, the tension, the jealousy! Superman, superior in strength, and Clark Kent, able to affect Superman’s reputation in every article he wrote. Would they fight? Would they shout?
Oh! What if Lois were there? Torn between the two men she’d been seeing, who fought over her like a prize! She would be so torn. Cat could see her faint expression now, how she would want them to settle the matter! Two men, vying for her heart, and one of them superhuman.
Tumblr media
It was too juicy to resist! Cat logged into her computer and started writing immediately. Something this hot had to make it into tomorrow’s paper!
ONE LUCKY LADY! by Cat Grant
We all know that the hearts of Metropolis’ people were captured by Superman as soon as we met him. Strong, powerful, and superhuman. What’s not to love?
The Daily Planet has investigated Superman ever since breaking the news of his debut. His exploits have been nothing short of legendary. Many of our own reporters are able to tell of times when Superman personally saved them from falling buildings, rescued their pets, or helped them with whatever they needed– not to mention fending off alien invaders and strange tech weapons. He’s been a rock for our community.
So what is he up to now?
The Daily Planet is pleased to report that Superman seems to have turned his eye to the romantic side of life… and is dating our very own investigative journalist, Lois Lane!
Eagle-eyed readers may remember that Ms. Lane has been romantically involved with another of our journalists, one Clark Kent, for several months now. Lane and Kent frequently work together, and have a reputation of a loving relationship. But could something be wrong in paradise?
Superman was willing to answer a few interview questions on the matter.
CG: What do you think of Clark Kent?
S: Mr. Kent! Of course I know him. He’s fine, just a regular guy and a good reporter. Nothing special about him. I don’t think about him at all.
CG: What’s so special about Lois Lane to capture the eye of Metropolis’ most eligible bachelor?
S: Lois is certainly a special person. She’s brave and kind, and really has a heart for Metropolis. She thinks the people should know what’s happening in their city, and I admire that.
CG: One last question. What would you like to say to Clark Kent?
For this question, Superman considered his words carefully. What could he have been thinking?
S: I’d tell him to keep Lois close and treat her even better than she deserves. He’s a lucky man… While I won’t fight him, we both know Lois gets whatever, and whoever, she wants.
Talk about a challenge! Metropolis’ darling makes it sound like he’s not the slightest bit worried about who she might choose. But what would Mr. Kent think?
The story only gets better. After quite the argument with Ms. Lane, he gave the Daily Planet a message for Superman.
“Superman, this is a message from Clark Kent. You might be a hero, and might save Metropolis from whatever comes to hurt its people, but you don’t get to take everything you want just because of that. If you want someone to date, go about it the normal way.
“If you really want to romance Lois first, you have to take it up with me. I’m sure you know where I live, so meet me on the roof and talk to me like a man. I won’t give up on Lois, not ever, so we’ll let Lois decide once and for all.”
Talk about a challenge! Superman, we hope you’re ready for your most dangerous battle of all… a battle for Lois Lane’s heart. Here at the Daily Planet, we already have our favorite horse in this race, and that’s Ms. Lane. No matter who she chooses, she’s the luckiest woman in Metropolis right now!
Of course, Cat had no way of knowing what actually happened in the newspaper morgue that day, or how the article would be received.
She didn’t hear how Clark cracked jokes about Lois having to choose between him and himself. She didn’t see how Lois egged him on, pretending that he would hunt down Superman and give him a knuckle sandwich. She didn’t see how Lois laughed and laughed, begging him to spare himself, until finally the two ended the so-called argument with a kiss and a nice, long hug.
What she did hear was that Superman had flown around the city the day it was published, signing every copy of The Daily Planet he could find, and leaving a signed copy with a note on her desk for her to find when she arrived at work.
Dear Ms. Grant,
The spin you put on this story was entertaining, so thank you for a good laugh. Please make no mistake that I do not date citizens– or anyone, Lois included. I wish you continued success in your writing.

hey so to add on to deaged billy, what if he as captain marvel often says “do good and good will follow” to the league, but as billy he ends up saying “no good deed goes unpunished”
i wanna see the league’s reaction to that
i also want him to have a super emotional scene where he saves someone despite the danger it puts him in and says with a breaking voice “sure no good deed goes unpunished, but it makes a difference. a small difference but a difference”
another thing i want is for when he turns back into marvel (assuming his identity isn’t discovered) that one of the leaguers (i’m imagining hal? idk tho) remarking on how feral he was as a child and marvel responding with the most feral grin to ever grin “who says i ever stopped?” and then switching back immediately to his normal marvellous self
I apologize for not getting to this ask soon enough, but wowie it has been dancing a real show stopping number in my brain cells for some time now.
First of all, I absolutely adore the "no good deed goes unpunished" motto for Billy as himself, seeing as when he is not Captain Marvel, he is more vulnerable to the truths and dangers of the world, and his experience in it has molded him into the pure of heart, yet bitter, child, he is today. Billy believes in the best in people and believes in doing good for others, but he doesn't believe in himself (to be worthy or deserving of anything good in return).
And I can totally see a scene happening where Billy continues to stand up against major threats and villains, despite only being in his mortal form with no magic or strength to him.
Maybe he's in Metropolis when a magical disturbance problem happens, and knowing Lex Luthor, he'd take advantage of a situation to take down superman with something he isn't good against. Lois Lane could be in danger while Superman is busy fighting a magical foe that Billy can't fight for once due to his inability to transform back into Captain Marvel, and seeing her about to get hurt pushes Billy to help her. He pushes her out of harms way but in doing so, leaves himself vulnerable to an attack and gets himself blasted across the room, injuring his tiny mortal self.
The pain is immense. It's worst than anything uncle Ebeneezer or muggers would make him feel. He knows that he's bleeding, he knows that his ribs cracked and heard his bones snap, but he refuses to lay down. Billy Batson may not have the powers of Captain Marvel at the moment, but Billy Batson, has the courage of Billy Batson.
He willingly stands up for what he believes in and is willing to fall for it, too. He doesn't care what others think, he just cares if they are safe.
Gosh, Imagine Billy Batson standing up to fist fight Lex Luthor. Small child gonna be roasting him for being bald and having an inferiority complex, haha. Or just kick him in the groin and run away 🏃‍♂️
As for the last thing you mentioned with Billy being a feral child, both in his mortal form and champion form, I love it. I am here for Billy being feral 24/7.
Superman: It's good to have you back as yourself, Captain. I have to say though, it was strange seeing you as the child you were. You were...how do I say this...
Hal: Feral. Rabid. An ungodly child who bit plastic man for stealing his doughnut.
Superman: Yes. What he said. If you don't mind me asking, what happened to you as a child that encouraged such good behavior and manners that we see in you in the present??
Hal: Pft, yeah, I think spooky wouldn't mind some advice on how to become a tame boy scout for his own herd of feral kids.
Captain Marvel, smirking: Well, hold on. You're assuming I stopped. I never said I did.
With the spirit of Billy in him, he gives them a wink with a cheeky smile, warning them of what was to come if he ever felt like it.
Feral Billy showing up in his Captain Marvel form reminded me of this fic on AO3, where Captain Marvel plays a prank on his coworkers about telling them his real age, then when they freaked out, said it was April Fool's. Cyborg knew though. Cyborg suffered in knowing the truth.
I'll reblog this with the link to the fic when I find it! I think you'd like it (if you haven't already read it).

Body Electric
Pairing: Tom Bennett (World on Fire) x f!reader x Billy Taylor (The Halcyon) Warnings: Angst, mentions of PTSD and familial death, (consensual) infidelity, voyeurism, smut. Word count: tbc
Author's note: For @adragonprinceswhore and @mefools. This is not a crack fic.
Full fic coming soon!

ship-to-ship combat by pomeloquat
Summary:
"Clark. What the hell is this," Lois asks, staring at Clark's Bruceman WIP folder. Clark's first instinct is to fly away, but that would still leave his fic on display for her to see. His second instinct is to blast a hole straight through his laptop screen with his heat vision, which isn't much better. Clark, in an attempt to make some spare cash, unintentionally stumbles into the world of superhero fanfiction, becomes a prolific writer for Gotham's OTP, and tries his best to fend off rival fans who want him to convert to superbat instead.
Relationships: Clark Kent/Bruce Wayne, Batman/Bruce Wayne - Relationship
Characters: Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, Lois Lane, Dick Grayson, Original Characters, Background & Cameo Characters,
Additional Tags: Silly, Crack, AU - Fans & Fandom, Characters Writing Fanfiction, Social Media, Identity Porn, This is STUPID, clark ships bruce/batman and bruce would prefer he ship superman/batman instead, mutual pining,
Notes: Okay, I can be picky about stories with fandom and fandom culture in them, but this one? No thoughts just vibes. I enjoyed it so much. Like it was just such a warm hug to fandom culture. But also, the identity porn and mutual pining was like a dagger to the stomach - in the best way. (I'm not wild I promise). I loved this a lot and, it's meta in the best way (no just because the main character is a meta).
(This is part of my year of recs. I'm trying to share some of my favorite stories on tumblr. I've set up a series of Soulmate recs for each month on the 15th, but these will be randomly dispersed throughout the year.)
